Credit Card Essential
The credit card holder must be the main driver. Please note that Dollar Rent a Car may require a security deposit at the time of pick up. This takes the form of an amount blocked on the primary drivers credit card. Cash deposits are not accepted.
Additional Driver Charges
Additional Drivers are charged at $10 per day, per driver plus taxes and fee, payable locally. Fees vary between rental stations and are subject to change with notice. For rentals originating in California, there is no charge for Additional Drivers. All Drivers must present their valid driving licenses at the start of the rental. Copies are not accepted.
Driving License Requirements
The renter or any additional authorised drivers wanting to drive the rental vehicle must present (at the beginning of the rental) a motor vehicle drivers license that is valid for the entire rental period. A valid motor vehicle drivers license means a drivers license that has not been suspended, expired, surrendered or revoked and includes an expiration date occurring after the end of the rental period.
Rates are not valid for US or Canadian Citizens or holders of a US or Canadian License.
Age Restrictions
The minimum age to rent a vehicle at most locations in the United States and Canada is 21 years of age. Please refer to the Local Policies for specific information on driver ages at the location where you intend to rent and the applicable charge for drivers 21 to 24 years of age.
Young/Senior Driver Information
Minimum age is 21. Drivers age 21-24 must pay an additional fee of between $25 - $45 per day plus tax. Please check with Reservations
Fuel
The renter will be charged for a full tank of fuel and should return the vehicle empty. There is no refund on unused fuel.
Baby/Child/Booster Seats
Between 5-40lbs $12 per day with a maximum $72 per rental plus taxes and fees.
Between 40-80lbs booster seats $12 per day with a maximum $72 per rental plus taxes and fees.
Cannot guarantee child or booster seats recommend taking your own or buying one in the USA

Cross Border Charges
In most cases vehicles can be driven in any state in the continental USA.
Not permitted on ferries or to island locations without prior authorization from Dollar. Travel is not permitted by rail.
Travel to Mexico is permitted with authorization from San Diego only and additional insurance must be purchased locally.
Vehicles may be driven into Canada from the following locations only: New York Area and Manhatten locations (JFK,EWR,LGA,ORD,MDW,DTW,PHL,IAD,DCA,LAX,SFO,SEA,PDX,BOS).
Travel to Canada must be requested once confirmed must be noted on voucher.
Roof Ski Racks
On Request at some locations ASE,BOI,DEN are $13 per day, ELP,LAX are $5 per day, SMF are $7.50 per day. No ski racks at LAS
Between $5 - $10 per day plus local taxes and fees.
Winter Equipment
Available at some locations LAX,SMF are $35 per rental. No snow chains can be picked up from LAS or SFD.

Additional Information
Effective 15 December, 2011, location SFOC03 (San Francisco – Fisherman’s Wharf at 2500 Mason Street) will not be participating in Tour Rates.
GPS/Satellite Navigation
Only available at Corporate Airport locations. Renter must hold a credit card in their name and be prepared to leave a credit card imprint in order to secure the SAT NAV. The unit is not covered under the LDW insurance or any other coverage. Loss or Damage to unit will incur a charge.

Tolls Information
Toll fees are not included within the rental price, therefore clients must pay tolls as they pass through them. However, with Dollar you can pre pay the tolls locally by opting to purchase the Pass 24. Please see below for details:

If Pass24® prepaid tolling service is declined and the toll roads are utilized, an unauthorized toll charge will be charged to the rental, resulting in a charge to the credit card used, which will be for the toll fee and an administrative fee of $25, for each unauthorized toll utilized during the rental period.
